Lovely couple Kev and Carly, needed to do something with their unused garage space, both working busy jobs sometimes from home, as well as looking after 2 young children, they needed extra space for the kids however didn’t want to compromise on all the storage that their garage could provide.
We love to solve a problem for a customer, so what we did was created a full size playroom equipped with a mounted TV and LED mood lighting throughout but we provided a secret storage space which is behind the TV area, which is big enough to house all Carly’s storage and of course Kev has his own storage area at the front of the garage for all his gardening and mechanical needs, leaving the Kids with the Playroom in the middle! everyone’s happy!
Again all works carried out by WYGC, conforming to building regulations and liaised with clients throughout to make sure their brief was met.

What’s Included in a Garage Cinema Room Conversion
We handle everything from start to finish. A typical cinema room conversion with us includes:
Insulation and plastering so the room stays warm in winter and cool in summer, and sound doesn’t travel as much into the rest of the house.
Electrics and lighting including LED mood lighting, spotlights, and enough sockets and circuits for your TV, sound system, and any gaming equipment. We plan the electrics around how you actually want to use the room.
Heating with a radiator sized appropriately for the space, so it’s comfortable year-round.
Flooring levelled and finished ready for whatever surface you want, whether that’s carpet, LVT, or something else entirely.
Optional storage if you want to keep a section of the garage for bikes, tools, or general household storage, we can partition it off so you still have access without it affecting the cinema room.
We’re also Gas Safe registered and Part P certified, so all the work is fully accredited and signed off to building regulations.

There are some exceptions, for example if your property is in a conservation area or your permitted development rights have been removed, so it’s always worth checking with your local authority first. We can help you understand what applies to your property.
Yes. All garage conversions must meet current building regulations regardless of whether planning permission is needed. This covers insulation, ventilation, electrics, fire safety, and structural safety. We liaise directly with building control on your behalf throughout the project, so you don’t need to manage that yourself.
We insulate the walls, floor, and ceiling as standard, which helps significantly with both temperature and sound. If sound insulation is a priority for you, let us know when we discuss your project and we can make sure the spec accounts for it.
Yes. We can install a partition wall to create a separate storage area at the front of the garage, keeping the original garage door in place. You get a proper cinema room and retain useful storage space, without compromising either.
Most single garage conversions are completed within one to two weeks. We’ll give you a clear timeline before work starts and keep you updated throughout so there are no surprises.
We handle everything in-house, including building work, electrics, plumbing, plastering, joinery, and painting and decorating. There’s no need to source or manage separate tradespeople.
